South Texas Flooding and the Alt-Left

"Hurricane Harvey Flood - 8/26/17 through" (CC BY 2.0) by jillccarlson

Okay liberals, so tell me, what are Antifa and Black Lives Matter doing to help the hurricane victims in south Texas?

The reason I ask, is this; I know police officers, fire fighters, and other people who liberals would consider "alt-right" or "White Nationalists" (AKA: proud Americans), who are currently using their boats and 4-wheel drive vehicles to rescue strangers from the flooding and get them to safety.

Condemnation of Race-Motivated Hate; Comparing the Left to the Right

"Make America Great Again" (CC BY-NC-ND 2.0) by JamesMcNellis

As of this moment, roughly 58 hours after the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, I have not witnessed a single person standing up for or justifying the KKK or the neo-Nazi groups who chose to attend.

I also have not seen or heard anyone say anything positive about the young man who "allegedly" drove his car into the crowd (even though truthfully, we don't yet know for a fact that it was with malicious intent).

Now you have to understand, I run with a pretty conservative crowd. Many of my friends and acquaintances are proud, gun-toting, freedom-loving, MAGA hat-wearing Trump voters. In other words, my friends and I are the people that liberals would have you believe are all bigoted racists who hate anyone who doesn't happen to be a white person of European descent.

Understanding Unite the Right Rally Violence

Why is it that yesterday's Unite the Right rally seemed to be mostly violent, while the Women's March (a much larger rally) was mostly peaceful? My answer would be that the difference in outcome is due to the attitudes of those who oppose them.

Sure, plenty of people, including myself, opposed the Women's March. Not because we are anti-woman, but because we disagree with the rhetoric and ideology used to justify it. But did you see any violent protests against it? Did you see any Trump supporters hurling feces, screaming insults, or otherwise opposing the event? No, you didn't, because our opposition was carried out with respect.

Yesterday's event however, was different. The people who opposed the UTR event (mostly Antifa and Black Lives Matter), didn't peacefully allow this rally to take place. In their minds, since they oppose the views of these rally-goers, they believe themselves to be morally-superior, and therefore justified in resorting to violent measures.
