Chick-Fil-A's Attempt to Appease the Belligerent Left

Chick-Fil-A is attempting to appease a clientele that will not be appeased. They should be able to see this from past situations with other companies. The liberal left in this country loves to hate and boycott.

When they get what they demand, they don’t sit down and say “oh okay great, we got what we wanted, so now we can be happy and support them!”

Instead, when they get what they demand, they just demand more. They demand donations and reparations to the organizations that support their beliefs. They demand public apologies for their past “transgressions”. Then they close in and demand the company or person disassociate themselves with even more groups they don’t agree with.

They won’t stop until they are firmly told “no”. Giving in to their demands only makes it worse. They will never be happy, so conservatives have to quit giving in, and instead, laugh in their faces and ridicule them.

In this case, Chick-Fil-A was doing just fine without the support of the left. They were one of, if not THE fastest growing fast food chain in the country. They didn’t need to expand into parts of the country that didn’t want them.

They haven’t gained any new customers, or appeased anyone by discontinuing their donations to certain Christian organizations. All they have done is potentially alienate the conservatives who have been supporting Chick-Fil-A with their hard-earned money for years.

I don’t think it will hurt them significantly, since conservatives are much less likely to protest and boycott than liberals are. That’s why you see so many companies caving in to liberals. It's nothing more than an evaluation of which stance is more likely to do the least damage to their brand. But, I would be greatly surprised if they see any significant increase in sales because of this. I have many liberal friends and I have already seen several posts from them saying that this doesn’t change anything for them. They will hold grudges and refuse to eat at Chick-Fil-A only because of what their stance has been in the past. Nothing will appease them.

Personally, I don’t care. I like Chick-Fil-A regardless of who they support or don’t support. I think it’s stupid to refuse to eat somewhere just because the company holds Christian values that in some cases includes the belief of marriage being between a man and a woman. And if you refuse to eat a delicious chicken sandwich because of this, I think you’re pretty stupid too! But it's your right to spend your money where you want and refuse to spend it somewhere that doesn't hold your values.

Ain't America Great??
